Information has just reached me that Amigo, the long running Czech gay scene magazine has ceased trading.

I was aware that the owner had been looking for a buyer for quite some time, but it appears he had no success.

As I understand it, Amigo Magazine was only a part of the business and as of tonight, their website and online store was still online.

Although mainly in the Czech language, Amigo also carried a useful listings section in English and was a useful publication for Czech gay youth.

Sales have fallen in recent months no doubt partly due to the rise in information and social networking sites on the internet.

Whilst there are a number of Czech ‘institutions’ I’d love to see finished, Amigo wasn’t one of them and will be missed…
